TEHRAN – A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis has stressed the necessity of the ceasefire in Syria, saying it is a prerequisite for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the country.

Iran’s long-held policy that ceasefire and evacuation of terrorists from Syria should be prioritized “over talks, political reform, and elections is a fair policy”, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh told Mehr news agency on Saturday.
